2010 So You Think You Can Cresson Dance? Competition and Fundraiser
The Cresson Dance Program

The Cresson Dance Program is a 501(c)(3) after school opportunity for students age 3 - adult, to learn dance technique and choreography as well as perform various styles of dance on stage. Our goal is to ensure that everyone who wants to dance - be able to dance!

The Cresson Dance Program began in 1999 with one class a week for 11 students. Currently we offer 14 classes a week for an enrollment of 80+ students. Classes offered include Creative Movement, Ballet I, Ballet II, Dance Workshops that offer Tap, Jazz, Hip-Hop and Yoga, Ballroom, Boys Class, Adult Movement, Dance Elective for Jr. and Sr. high school students and Senior Performing Company.

Cresson Dance CompanyIn 2002-2003 The Cresson Dance Company was established to provide a select group of serious dancers with more performing experiences and challenges in terms of technique and choreography. These young dancers, ages 9-18, perform over 20 times per year in numorous locations in Teller and El Paso Counties. These performances, always free of charge, are educational as well as entertaining and have been recieved by audiences of all ages. The Cresson Dance Company is based within the Cripple Creek-Victor School District in Teller County, Colorado. Our educational and entertaining programs offer an excellent opportunity to bring the art of dance to your school or event while providing our dancers with further performing experience.

OUR MISSION AND GOALS: To provide high quality dance performance and educational experiences to ALL interested students and audiences in the Pikes Peak region.

What's Happening in 2009 for Cresson Dance

Many new and exciting things are happening for Cresson Dance this spring, and we're excited to bring them to you! Click the blue links in the following paragraphs for details about each event.

First up, Cresson Dance is coming to Divide! Classes begin on September 1 and registration is ongoing. Check our Dance in Divide! page or call 689-5745 for details. We are also presenting a full slate of diverse performances in May 2009, and everyone is invited. In addition to the performing company's usual schedule of two special performances for the public at the Butte Opera House in Cripple Creek, members of the Cresson Dance company will join our instructional program at Cresson Elementary for the annual Spring Performances. And last, make sure and attend our 2010 So You Think You Can Cresson Dance? competition April 24, at the Butte Opera House in Cripple Creek.

In our continuing efforts to make high-quality dance instruction and performances available in the Ute Pass area and beyond, we have incorporated as a Colorado nonprofit corporation, joined the Mountain Arts Council, and have a number of Sponsors to thank for helping us to keep tuitions low and performances accessible to all. We also have a new link through which supporters can make donations online. You can find all of this on our new Supporters and Associations page.

We also have many new photographs to show you from recent photo shoots, and you can find them in the new Photos section. The Cresson Dance Company has been very busy this spring with numerous performances at schools, nursing homes, senior clubs, civic clubs and organizations in Teller, Park and El Paso Counties. Details appear on our Calendar.
